Are you planning a walking or kayaking tour of the Cahaba lily (Hymenocallis coronaria) this year? Beginning around Mother's Day each year, this native aquatic flower blooms on the shoals of the Cahaba River. Usually lasting until around Father's Day, there are several locations offering views of their splendor. Come hear Dr. Randall Haddock, retired from the Cahaba River Society, discuss the science and natural history, along with what it environmentalists are doing to preserve this unique resource in our watershed.
