Learn how to identify and locate birds with local expert, Greg Harber, at the Cahaba Riverchase Greenway.
Whether you want to start identifying birds at your feeder or at your local park, figuring out how to start birdwatching comes with many questions. Expert Greg Harber will answer all of your questions while you learn birding basics such as bird identification, essential equipment and how to use it, where to go birding, how to keep bird lists, and many more birdy topics! Greg Harber has been a member of Alabama Audubon since he first moved to Birmingham in 1986. During that time, he has served in various capacities, including as a chapter officer and as a key member on several committees (Bird Counts and Education, among others). An avid cyclist and master birder, he currently serves on the Alabama Audubon Board of Directors and as chair of the Field Trips committee.
Please bring binoculars and cameras if you are able. Only a few extra binoculars will be on site to loan. Young children and dogs are discouraged from attending. Registration required.
