Celebrate Alabama's quilting tradition with author Phyllis Biffle Elmore and radio host Burgin Mathews
In conjunction with The March Quilts, a local nonprofit whose annual art projects commemorate themes of civil and human rights, author Phyllis Biffle Elmore and radio host Burgin Mathews will discuss her memoir, Quilt of Souls. Elmore weaves back and forth through time, telling true tales of racism, sexism, and colorism, but also of strength and pride, creating a multi-generational patchwork honoring her family and ancestors. This program will kick off a series of three community events featuring Elmore and Mathews.
