The Library Theatre 2025-2026. Join us for our 33rd season!
Three-time Grammy Award winner John Scofield has recorded nearly 50 albums and toured with the legendary Miles Davis. His latest release, Uncle John’s Band, named for the Grateful Dead song that concludes Scofield’s inspired double album, features Scofield on guitar, Vicente Archer on bass and Bill Stewart on drums. Known for his distinctive sound and stylistic diversity, Scofield is a composer and jazz improviser whose music generally falls somewhere between post-bop, funk-edged jazz and R & B. The trio features masterful guitarist John Scofield at his most freewheeling. “You don’t rely on arrangements as much as the intuitive way we play together. You rely on good playing knowing that there’s no safety net involved. We’re three musicians with a special synergy that unfolds between us.”
