In Houston, Texas, third-generation deli man Ziggy Gruber has built arguably the finest delicatessen restaurant in the U.S. His story embodies a tradition indelibly linked to its savory, nostalgic foods - and a disappearing tradition.
This Film Club selection is part of the Stories of Exile program series. The Yiddish Book Center’s “Stories of Exile” Reading Groups for Public Libraries is a program in which librarians organize reading groups to discuss three books of Yiddish literature in translation, and one book related to the experience of a community served by their library.

Located in Hoover, Alabama, at 200 Municipal Drive, the Hoover Public Library has been operating since 1983. The Hoover Public Library seeks to reinvent the way communities view libraries.
