Join us for a study of the (very) complicated experimental fiction book House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski.
People have a strange fascination with anything that warns them away from it, and House of Leaves translates this very notion into book form. Everything about the text conveys the instruction of "Don't try to read this", and elicits groans of displeasure from anyone who ever picked up the book and immediately put it down. But somewhere out there is an audience nagged by the fact that they listened. To them, their initial fascination may be too strong to fully have driven them away but not quite strong enough to pull them in on their own. Perhaps they're prepared to suffer through it as long as they don't have to suffer alone. This book study is for them.
